Darko Filipovic is highly-energetic, result-oriented TV/Film editor, with rapid career advancement in Production & Post-Production using his on hand tools for editing like Final Cut Pro. For better improvement he is well versed in camera shooting, music composing, directing, producing using his related equipment e.g. Panasonic AG-HVX200 camera or computer programs like  Photoshop, After Effects, Nuendo and Soundtrack Pro.

In 1996 at The 43rd Festival of Yugoslavian Documentary and Short Film he won a Film Academy award for innovation of theoretical and conventional traditional editing principles for the purposes of improving and completing the story-line and supporting the core rhythm and atmosphere of the documentary “ Welcome To The National Theatre” (make of theatre play “The Idiot” by Dostoevsky). The edited outcome was also aesthetically pleasing for the eye, and therefore resulting in a holistic work of art where the whole was much better than the sum of its parts.Year later at the same Festival he was nominated for best editing in musical documentary “Masquerade” (Dedicated to the best costume designer from the Belgrade National Theatre)

In 2001 he moved to Canada were he mainly worked on different lifestyle TV Series for LIfe TV, YTV, History Channel , Discovery Channel as well as movies, documentaries, commercials, music/corporate videos.

In 2006 at the TSFF in Toronto he was nominated for the Best Short Film “Dead End”.

Currently he is editing, directing and producing his documentary in Toronto.
